Bill Clinton Torches Trump Over Foreign Policy and White House Record in Campaign-Trail Appearance

In his first public appearance of the midterm campaign trail, former President Bill Clinton delivered a pointed 33-minute speech targeting Donald Trump, sharply criticizing the former presidentโ€™s foreign policy stance toward Ukraine and Russia while taking aim at his treatment of traditional U.S. allies.

Speaking to supporters on Oct. 20, Clinton condemned Trumpโ€™s diplomatic posture, arguing that the former president has moved to sideline Ukraine while seeking rapprochement with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Clinton voiced frustration over Trump’s foreign policy maneuvers, pointing to actions that bypassed congressional oversight on Russian diesel agreements, the stalling of Patriot missile defense shipments to Kyiv, and Trump’s public calls for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to be replaced.

Clinton also raised alarm over Trump’s proposals for trilateral summits involving Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping that excluded Ukrainian representation entirely.

Beyond international diplomacy, Clinton targeted Trumpโ€™s domestic decisions and economic messaging. Criticizing Trump’s immigration enforcement directives and the administration’s connection to working-class economic struggles, Clinton also drew laughs from the crowd with a swipe at Trump-era White House architectural changes, remarking that the altered Rose Garden resembled “the entrance to Liberace’s bathroom.”

Contrasting Republican leadership with Democratic administrations, Clinton highlighted the economic track records of his own presidency alongside those of Barack Obama and Joe Biden, asserting that all three oversaw reductions in inflation and unemployment.

With voters set to head to the polls in just three weeks, Clinton’s aggressive remarks underscore the Democratic Party’s push to keep foreign policy credibility, national security alliances, and economic stability front and center ahead of election day.
