That’s a formal diplomatic receiving line. Officials in suits. Military personnel standing at attention. The President of Ireland working his way down the row, shaking hands with the people America sent to represent it.
Melania wasn’t one of them.
She skipped the trip entirely.
And standing right there in her place, greeting a foreign head of state like it was the most normal thing in the world, was Natalie Harp.
For anyone who doesn’t recognize the name, Harp is a 34-year-old former One America News host who has become one of Trump’s closest aides, the one who always seems to be at his side, cameras rolling, showing up in moment after moment that would once have included the First Lady.
This time it wasn’t a photo op back home.
It was an international trip, a formal greeting with a head of state, and America’s First Lady was nowhere on the itinerary.
Instead, it was Harp shaking the hand of Ireland’s president.
Melania has kept an increasingly low profile throughout this administration. She skipped Trump’s own midterm convention in Dallas. Now she’s skipped an overseas diplomatic trip too.
